One of the most accurate ways to estimate a persons caloric or calorie needs is through
metabolic testing. This provides the registered dietitian with information to help you lose/gain or maintain your weight. It will also show where your metabolism falls compared to a typical person with the same gender, height, weight and age. A slow metabolism could detect a medical condition such as hypothyroidism. Many insurance companies are now covering for nutrition counseling and metabolic testing.
Nutrition Counseling
The goal of nutrition counseling is to help a person make and maintain dietary changes
specific to their needs. We cover a variety of conditions such as: Diabetes education, adult and childhood obesity/weight loss, renal failure, gastrointestinal disorders, hyperlipidemia ( high cholesterol and triglycerides), hypertension, metabolic syndrome and more. Individualized counseling is provided to meet a persons specific nutritional needs and continue to offer a support system.
